If you were involved in the Camellia Recall program with CFIA a couple of years ago, you will have heard of SOD or P. ramorum. For the time being it is best to purchase plants from Certified Growers to help curb the spread of this disease. Sunday May 11th 2008 The University Finnerty Garden Friends holds an annual plant sale the first Sunday in May in the McKinnon building at UVic However this year it is being held on the second Sunday in May. Mother's Day, 11th May. Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to collect carts from the parking lot and return them to the building during the sale. Volunteers are also required after the sale, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., to move plants from the McKinnon building to the parking lot (for pickup by nurseries).
